FEED BOILIES FOR FISH FARMS AND FISHERIES
We produce our feed boilies to help fishery owners feed larger fish without wasting feed on smaller nuisance fish. If you are feeding pellets and have a large population of nuisance fish, you could be losing a large percentage—if not all—of your feed to them. By feeding boilies, you can be confident that most, if not all, of the feed is consumed by larger carp. Although boilies cost more than pellets, you know your carp have a better chance of getting the nutrition they need to thrive.
Our advanced machinery allows us to produce over 1,000kg per day with ease. If we ran it flat out, we could produce over 5,000kg in just eight hours. While running at top speed is not practical for us to keep up with, it shows how efficient our production has become. The manufacturing process is almost fully automated. This minimizes production costs and keeps the overall price of our feed boilies down. Normally, labour makes up a large portion of boilie production costs, but automating the process has dramatically cut those expenses. Our boilies provide a complete, balanced diet containing a full vitamin and mineral supplement.
To make our boilies, we first mill Aqua Aller Classic or Classic Vitamax carp pellets into a fine powder. This makes an ideal main ingredient because it is already a complete, balanced diet with a proven track record and an excellent feed-to-weight conversion rate. The Vitamax version contains a formula proven to improve the carp’s immune response, helping them fight off parasites and infections or handle stress better. This option costs a little extra, but it is well worth it for your stock’s health. We never use cheap bulking ingredients—it is all pure goodness.
We steered away from using eggs in our boilies. This is because the lipid, or fat, content of eggs is way too high. Instead of relying solely on eggs as the binding agent within our mixes, we developed our own protein-based binder and egg replacer. This binder has a lipid content of just 0.5%, compared to over 40% in eggs.
Carp use lipids or fats as an energy source, so fat is essential, but it must be at the correct level, if we were to use eggs as our binder the fat content would be approx double what’s needed, During the colder months, carp require less fat because they are less active. As the water warms up, they require more as their activity levels increase. However, too much fat in their diet can have disastrous consequences on their internal organs; their livers can become enlarged, which generally leads to premature death. Because of this, it is vitally important to keep fat levels in the 8% to 10% range in winter and the 12% to 14% range in summer.
A carp’s ability to utilize protein also increases as the water warms up. Because of this, we produce boilies with an increased protein and lipid content ideally suited for summer use, and a lower protein and lipid content boilie for autumn, winter, and spring. It is important that the feed is as digestible as possible. We also ensure that the carp’s 10 essential amino acid requirements are fully met. This is crucial, as carp will have difficulty digesting and extracting nutrients from their feed if there is an amino acid imbalance.
The boilies we produce are fresh or frozen. We use no chemical preservatives in these at all, so customers will need adequate freezer space to store them. To give you an idea of the space required, a 6-foot chest freezer generally holds around 250kg of boilies.
Boilies are available in various sizes, protein levels, and fat contents to suit your needs.
We also offer specialized additives to enhance your feed:
- Super G (Garlic): A super-strong garlic herbal remedy ideal for fish suffering from parasite problems. Regular feeding can significantly reduce or even eliminate common parasites like argulus, whitespot, and flukes. It also acts as a powerful attractant for carp, increasing their feed uptake.
- Cost: Just 30p extra per kg.
- Classic Vitamax: Formulated with powerful immune system stimulants to help carp fight back against stress, bacterial infections, and parasite infestations.
- Cost: Just 25p extra per kg.
- Feed Stimulants: To increase uptake of feed powerful feed stimulants can also be added to the mix, ideal for fussy fish or fish that are maybe feel a bit under the weather. Prices vary depending on inclusion rates, call for details.
